Welcome to the Mid Cities (TX) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated!

We Are:

Community service, leadership, and a zeal to empower our youth are the hallmarks of The Links, Incorporated.  Nationally, our organization has over 1 million documented service hours.  The Mid-Cities (TX) Chapter has worked consistently since our charter on April 20, 1985 to create programs and activities to uplift those in need throughout the Metroplex – Arlington, Irving, and Grand Prairie.

Our volunteerism is augmented by scholarships to college-bound young women in Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Math (STEAM) awareness programs for young people; grants to frontline organizations during the COVID-19 crisis and more.  Our commitment is unwavering, and our results speak volumes. Since inception, chapter members have dedicated over 120,000 volunteer hours which is equivalent to more than $3 million of added value to the community.

President's Welcome

Vickie Mitchell

Mid Cities (TX) Chapter President

Since its founding on April 20, 1985, the Mid-Cities (TX) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated has passionately served the communities of Arlington, Grand Prairie, and Irving. For nearly four decades, we have made meaningful contributions and driven impactful programs that uplift and empower these communities. The Links, Incorporated, established in 1946, is a distinguished international, not-for-profit organization of over 17,000 professional women of African descent across 299 chapters in 41 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, and the United Kingdom. Our mission is centered on enhancing the culture and economic resilience of African Americans and individuals of African ancestry, making The Links one of the most influential volunteer service organizations in the nation. The Mid-Cities (TX) Chapter is honored to be part of this legacy. Through scholarships, youth programs, and grants, we have invested over $125,000 in college-bound young women, advanced STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Math) education for young people, and provided $10,000 in critical COVID-19 relief grants to local frontline organizations. Our community outreach includes initiatives on voter education, kidney health awareness, and human trafficking prevention. For 26 years, our chapter’s signature event, Black Tie Boxing: A Knock-out Affair, united over 700 supporters annually in a powerful celebration of community. This year, we’re excited to debut MCL UNBOXED – A Sparkling Affair, our reimagined fundraiser that promises an evening of elegance, dining, dancing, and entertainment at the Omni Dallas Hotel on Saturday, August 16, 2025. MCL UNBOXED represents the evolution of our past efforts and is the cornerstone of our future fundraising endeavors. We extend our deepest gratitude for your continued support as we forge meaningful friendships and partnerships to strengthen communities and improve lives. Together, we are building a brighter, more equitable future. Warmest regards,
